Would you like to give your material some airtime and raise your author-profile? Those kind folks at BeyondRadio are giving me my very own radio show and I want to get your stories on the air…
what’s your story?
“What’s your story” is a magazine arts show whose purpose is to support and promote writers ploughing the often lonely trail that is creative writing.
There will be interviews with writers, pieces from industry insiders, advice from creative writing tutors, reports from live events and, most importantly, readings of material sent in by listeners (all very friendly, no harsh analysis).
…and the best bit….BeyondRadio not only transmits on FM to listeners in the northwest of the UK, it’s also on the web – so material (your material) could be heard anywhere…
when will it air?
The initial run of six shows is in development at the moment. I will announce dates as soon as we have them. Each episode will be one-hour long and go out in the early evening (GMT). Contributors will be notified of the broadcast date and time of their material.
what’s the catch?
You won’t receive any payment if your material is used so I guess some might say that was the catch, but it won’t cost you a penny and you’re not signing away any rights (other than giving permission for us to read it out).
how do I submit?
Shuffle on over to my contact page and in the first line of the comments block put ‘what’s you story?’ And something like… “Hi Adam, I’m interested in submitting some material for the show” …and I’ll be in touch.
I will NOT share your email with third parties EVER.
what kind of material can I send in?
I want your short stories (up to 2500 words), any theme or genre is fine. We can’t broadcast ‘strong’ language or anything too ‘adult’ in style.
There will also be a strict 100 word short story competition – that means exactly 100 words (not including title and author details). These will be on themes that I’ll announce on air each week. If you fancy a go at this, the first theme is “Moving Day”.
So…what exactly is holding you back? Click on the contact page and get the ball rolling…
